Paying It Forward
Though, I may not even had made it to where I am today if it hadn't been for a very caring school counselor and teachers. While I escaped into my academics and books due to the hardships that come with growing up in poverty, the toll of other ACEs and my own speech disability (and Asperger Syndrome), those caring adults guided me to apply to university and paid for my application fees, amongst paying for many other things. Without their caring help, I wouldn't have been able to experience many wonderful things and meet some very wonderful mentors, colleagues, and individuals along the way.
Simply put, this has influenced me to become the helper and carer at heart that I am today.
during high school (in front of the couch that was used as my bed and was one of the best beds I ever had until I left for university).
